Our Preacher
Tom Lewis has served FCC as our Preaching Minister since September 30, 2007.
Preacher Tom is married to his high school and church camp sweet heart, Kathy, and has been blessed with three wonderful daughters; Kyrah, Amanda and Hannah.
Prior to this calling in Cherokee Tom served a 9 year ministry as the Sr. Minister at First Christian Church in Tabor, IA and prior to that he held a 5 year Youth Ministry position at the Christian Church in Auburn, NE. Tom is a 1986 graduate from West Harrison High School in Mondamin, IA. He is also proud to be a 1996 graduate of Nebraska Christian College with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Youth Ministries.
Tom grew up in the fellowship of the Christian Church in Mondamin, IA – his hometown. He attributes his desire to serve full time in ministry to the influences of his parents, church camp and the elders and youth leaders of his home church.
Tom’s favorite Bible verses are Hebrews 12:1-3; 1st Corinthians 10:13. He likes fantasy league baseball, loves to spend time with family and friends; is passionate about the power and ministry of church camp and is an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Detroit Tigers.
Preacher Tom has one prayer for this body… that we are unified under Christ Jesus as the head and we serve His people with passion, grace, truthfulness and love.
