In this series we’re taking a walk through The Sermon on the Mount, Jesus’ most famous discourse. Today we’re examining a passage known as the beatitudes. The term beatitude is a Hebrew word that means “blessing” or “to be happy.” This passage is about all the things that can bring us eternal joy—not just for when we die but also in this life.
